Building a stadium is a huge undertaking that comes with many considerations. You’ve probably answered the easy questions like “what activities will be done here?” and “how many people will the stadium hold?” But once you get further into the planning phase, you will discover there is more to the process than you could have imagined. To help you get the process started, here are a few items you should take into consideration early in the planning process.

Hiring a Construction Consultant

Once you begin the planning phase of your project, you may be surprised to find how many different components are needed to complete everything successfully. If this is your first time building a stadium or if the project is becoming more work than you are able to take on, you may want to hire a consultant to help with the planning and execution stages of your project.

We offer everything from site evaluation to feasibility and plan development. We can also help you with construction planning, scheduling, and management. Working with us will save you time and alleviate some headaches.

Field Equipment and Surfacing

Another essential part of your stadium will be the equipment and surfacing used in the stadium. This will depend on what sports will be played at the stadium. Will you need goalposts? How about outdoor tennis courts? What surface do they need?

Whatever you decide, we are a fully licensed General Contractor and work with the nation’s best sports field designers and craftsmen. We can install safety netting, wall padding, dugouts, scoreboards, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

What Type of Turf To Use

Turf is one of the most critical parts of a stadium. Depending on the types of activities that will be taking place, you will need turf that is durable enough to withstand a ton of traffic while also being made of materials that will not cause too much of a heat increase.

For smaller projects, schools, and practice areas you could utilize a high-quality used turf. This saves some money and would also be an environmentally conscious decision. If this is something you would be interested in, we could help. We remove turf from stadiums and then recycle it and would be happy to work something out with you. We are a division of UDC Sports which rescues over 1 million square feet of turf each year.
