One of the most fun parts of practicing a sustainable lifestyle is getting creative with reusing and repurposing materials. Instead of letting old artificial turf take up valuable space in a landfill, let’s start thinking creatively. There are so many ways to reuse artificial turf! Here are five out-of-the-box ideas to reuse your synthetic turf.

Table Decorations

If you like to design creative tablescapes, why not make leftover turf your focal point? Turf can easily be repurposed into a table runner or placemat for a safari or garden-themed party. Not only will it look great, but your guests will also be impressed by your creativity.

Create Grass Cushions

If you want to make a dull outdoor seating area pop, you could use old turf for a decorative outdoor cushion. You could add the cushions to a bench or chair for comfortable seating or make large cushions to set down for a picnic. However you choose to use them, they will be unique and sure to get a lot of compliments.

Bring It Inside

Artificial turf doesn’t have to stay outside. Bring it indoors. You could use your old turf in a kid’s bedroom or playroom. If your kids want a fun, jungle, or sports-themed room, you could incorporate artificial turf into the design.

Synthetic turf is ideal in a playroom since it is more durable than carpet, so if you have kids who like to play rough, putting down some turf could be a great option. Adding turf as a decorative element around a playhouse is a great idea too!

Use It In Your Fish Tank

As long as your turf is non-toxic, you could add it to your fish tank for decoration. It will add an interesting design element and help make clean-up easier.

In this idea, you will need to do your research to make sure the product and the environment of your tank are a good fit.

Gym Flooring

Artificial turf is durable, so why not use it as flooring in your home gym? The turf will provide a low-impact surface for your workouts and can hold up to sweat and high traffic. It will be much less expensive than purchasing and installing all-new flooring.

There are so many possibilities for recycling artificial turf; you just have to have a little imagination. If you have used your old or extra turf in a creative way, we’d love to hear about it.
