Artificial turf tape is used to bond to adjoining edges of artificial turf. It does not contain an adhesive. It is designed to work in conjunction with an adhesive specifically formulated for the task.

Top-quality artificial turf tapes do not allow the adhesive to bleed through, which would cause unwanted adhesion to the base layer of the turf field.

Applying artificial turf tape requires a few steps, these include:

The contact surfaces should be clean and free of any oily residues

Roll the edges back that are to be joined and lay the seam tape into position. There is a red stripe to help guide you in finding the centerline of the tape.

Glue from a tube can be spread across the tape as pictured.

If using a glue box, the adhesive is applied to the seam tape through the glue box as it is stretched into place. This allows for even layering of the adhesive as well as flow control during the process.

Then you roll the artificial turf edges back into place and pressure should be applied. A weighted roller can be run over the seam at both 30 minutes and 60 minutes into drying time. In some circumstances, staples can be used to hold the edge in place, but the pressure and weight are best.
