Answer: Yes, you can use a snowblower.
Keeping your artificial turf in play ready shape, as well as part of regular maintenance in snowy climates, snow removal is highly recommended.
Methods For Snow Removal:
Snowblower: For small spaces or light snow, a snowblower can easily be used on artificial turf.
Low Weight, Rounded Snow Plow: Ideal for large fields or heavy/massive snowfall events.
Chemical Ice-Melter: The only recommended way to remove ice from artificial turf. Heavy tools such as chippers, shovels, or any bladed handtool should never be used.
Snow Removal Warnings:
Snow and ice should be removed from artificial turf to help prevent bending and cracking (under deep freeze conditions) of the artificial grass blades.
Heavy tools may damage or break frozen artificial turf blades.
Artificial turf areas should be kept up with throughout the winter in order to avoid a springtime mess (or damage).
As with all turf installations, water drainage should be taken into account for the turf area.
Never use:
- Heavy Equipment
- Heavy Machinery
- Straight/V-Blade Snow Plows (If you have access to a lightweight standard bladed snowplow setup, a blade blunting attachment can be used in some circumstances)
